日本のオルタナティブ教育と知識経済：自由芸術大学の上岡誠二さんを迎えて

オルタナティブ教育と知識経済は山崎いおんとジョン・パイレズによる共同リサーチのテーマです。このリサーチでは、ネオリベラル・グローバリゼーションが、成長と発展を中心に据えるために、人文科学をなくすことによって教育制度を再構築しようとする中で、アジアのコンテンポラリー・アートの実践者によるインディペンデントな学びの場を探求することを目的としています。リサーチにあたって行うこのフィールド・ワークの前半部分では、いおんとジョンがインディペンデントな教育組織である自由芸術大学（FAU）を高円寺で立ち上げた上岡誠二さんと対話をします。
自由芸術大学は興味深い講演会、ワークショップ、セミナーを開催しており、かつて誰もが享受していた学びの自由を再び獲得するための学びの環境を探っています。この対話では、コンテンポラリー・アートとインディペンデントな学びの場を作ることとの関連を上岡さんと対談したいと考えています。特にFAUがどのように批評的な学びのプラットホームとして”Por nova mondo”-新しい世界に向けて-のスローガンに表現されるようなラディカルな潜在力を生かし、インディペンデントな学びの場を作っているのかを伺います。
Alternative Education and Knowledge Economy in Japan: A Dialogue with Seiji Ueoka of Free Art University

Alternative Education and Knowledge Economy is a collaborative research by Ion Yamazaki and Jong Pairez. The research aims to study independent learning initiatives by contemporary art practitioners in Asia as neoliberal globalization restructures the education system by stifling the arts and humanities in favor for an intensified education programs that center around growth and development. For the first part of the series of this research fieldwork, Ion and Jong will host Radio Kosaten in a dialogue with Seiji Ueoka the co-founder of Free Art University (FAU), an independent learning initiative from Koenji that have been programming interesting lectures, workshops, and seminars, which cultivates a learning culture that reclaims back the freedom once enjoyed by everyone. In this dialogue, we hope to discuss together with Seiji Ueoka the relevance of contemporary art practices in forging independent learning initiatives, especially how FAU as a critical learning platform opens to radical potentialities as expressed in their motto “Por nova mondo” – for a new world.
